Business Development and Philanthropy Intern

Shesha Taylor

Shesha Taylor joined Ontario Genomics in 2026 as a Business Development and Philanthropy intern. Born in India and raised in Qatar, she completed her bachelor’s degree at the University of Toronto, where she specialized in Genetics & Biotechnology and minored in English.

Before moving into industry, Shesha conducted research at the Hospital for Sick Children and the National Institute of Genetics in Japan. Her time in academia sparked her curiosity about how research insights move from the bench to the bedside, which led her to industry.

She made that leap as a Business Development & Growth Strategy associate at a MedTech startup in the cancer diagnostics space, where she wore numerous hats. She was an assistant project manager to the COO for the Business Development team, mentored interns, created the company’s investor CRM infrastructure, and helped raise a $5 million seed round alongside numerous successful grant applications. At Ontario Genomics, Shesha brings this cross-sector experience to philanthropic prospect development, grant writing, and CRM management.
