This annual report comes at a very significant time for Ontario Genomics. We’ve officially entered our 25th anniversary! For a quarter century, we’ve been supporting academics and researchers in over 360 game-changing projects, growing our partnerships to more than 600, creating over 11,000 jobs and securing over $3.5 billion in investments. As impressive as all that is, we’re just getting started.
We tip our hat to the past while working enthusiastically on progress for the future bioeconomy. Since 2000, we’ve partnered with researchers, visionaries and industry leaders on exciting and awe-inspiring projects in health, food and agriculture and cleantech to make this province a better place to live, work and thrive. They were all motivated by the same question: “What if we could?” That is the inspiration for this year’s annual report and our 25 Years of Inspiring Innovation Gala, which we’ll tell you more about in next year’s report, but here’s a sneak peek of our celebration of outstanding biotechnology contributions.
“This milestone marks a quarter-century of groundbreaking genomics research and innovation that has positioned Ontario as a global leader in the health, agrifood and environmental sectors. Our government has proudly supported Ontario Genomics by investing over $20 million in their operations since 2018.”
“As Ontario Genomics marks its 25th year, we celebrate our organization’s role in helping fund cutting-edge science projects that are producing homegrown solutions to some of humanity’s biggest problems.”
