Introducing the *NEW* Database of Genomic Variants!
The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) and the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) are hosting a 1 hour webinar about the new, updated version of the Database of Genomic Variants (DGV) – a curated database that catalogues structural variation in the human genome.
The new version of the DGV has an upgraded genome browser, as well as a query tool, which allows users to search a significantly enriched dataset, including details on samples, methods, platforms and analyses performed for each study.

University of Waterloo
|
On November 2 and 3rd, 2011 the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI), The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) and the University of Waterloo co-hoste a two-day workshop entitled “Metagenomic Methods and Data Analysis Workshop” at the University of Waterloo. |
Learn about OpenFreezer – web-based software for lab reagent management
The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) hosted a 1 hour web conference/webinar about OpenFreezer – a free, open-source, web-based software application that maintains detailed and standardized documentation on common laboratory reagents and provides useful tools for their manipulation.
The software was recently featured in Nature Methods and is accessible at www.openfreezer.org. Open Freezer can be useful to researchers in all sizes and types of labs.
Pathway and Network Analysis: Bioinformatics Hands-on Full Day Training Session in London
The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) and The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG), in partnership with the London Regional Genomics Centre (LRGC) hosted a one-day training session on bioinformatics tools for interpreting gene lists from 'omics' data (e.g. gene expression, protein expression, molecular interactions, large-scale genetic screens and other omics data).
Environmental metagenomics – the Ontario landscape
MaRS Centre, Toronto
|
On April 8, 2011, the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) hosted a one-day workshop focused on metagenomics and environmental microbiology. Ontario researchers were brought together to network and explore opportunities in this field including in the areas of bioremediation, biomonitoring and biomining. |
Pathway and Network Analysis: Bioinformatics Hands-on Full Day Training Session in Ottawa
The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) and The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG), in partnership with StemCore Laboratories, hosted a one-day training session on bioinformatics tools for interpreting gene lists from 'omics' data (e.g. gene expression, protein expression, molecular interactions, large-scale genetic screens and other omics data) in Ottawa.
iRefWeb resource webinar
OGI and The Centre for Applied Genomics (TCAG) partnered to co-host a 1 hour web conference/webinar about iRefWeb – a web-based interface to a large landscape of protein-protein interactions (PPI), consolidated from major public databases.
