Two Research Facilities Awarded Technology Seeding Grants
Toronto, December 16, 2011 – The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) has awarded two research facilities with $10,000 each to test or develop leading-edge technologies to better aid the work of Ontario researchers.
New Grant Launched to Help Ontario Secondary Schools Purchase Science Equipment
Toronto, November 24, 2011 – The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) has announced a new funding program to cover the cost of laboratory equipment for secondary school science classes.
The OGI Genomics Equipment Grant awards $3,000 to cover the cost, or assist with, the purchase of new laboratory equipment, as well as $1,000 to cover the costs of consumables for the equipment. The grant is open to all grade 11 and 12 life sciences teachers and departments in publically funded Ontario secondary schools.
$200k Awarded to Genomics Researchers to Spark New Research Technology Development
Toronto, November 10, 2011 – The Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) has announced the recipients of its SPARK program, which was launched in April this year to seed high-impact, high-risk technology development projects in genomics.
Four researchers have received $50,000 each to put towards developing technologies such as instrumentation, software and reagents that have the potential to impact genomics research.

Toronto, October 18, 2011 – As part of Genome Canada’s Entrepreneurship Education in Genomics (EEG) competition, the Ivey International Centre for Health Innovation in London, Ontario, has been awarded $240,000 to run a business training course for life scientists.
