Genome Canada is seeking applications for operations support for Science and Technology Innovation Centres (S&T ICs) in genomics technologies.  This is an open competition with a maximum of $24 million available to support competitive current and new S&T ICs for a period of two years (April 1, 2011 to March 31, 2013).

Grand Challenges Canada: Point-of-Care Diagnostics

Grand Challenges Canada and the Grand Challenges in Global Health initiative of the Bill &
Melinda Gates Foundation are partnering on an initiative, directed primarily at researchers in
low- and middle-income countries, that seeks to create a new class of point-of-care (POC)
diagnostics that will be easy to use, low cost, multiplexed and able to assess disease stage and
provide information on prognosis.

GCB Workshop - Genomes at large: prospects and priorities

Supported through OGI’s Genomics Capacity Building (GCB) Workshops program, Dr. T. Ryan Gregory, Associate Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology and the Biodiversity Institute of Ontario at the University of Guelph hosted a scientific meeting on genome size and ploidy information on May 3-4, 2010 at the University of Guelph in Guelph, Ontario.

GCB Workshop - International Mouse Phenotyping Consortium (IMPC): Steering Committee Strategy Workshop

Dr. Colin McKerlie, Senior Associate Scientist at SickKids and Director of Research Partnerships at the Toronto Centre for Phenogenomics, co-chaired a strategy workshop on mouse phenotyping that was held 07-09 April 2010 at the University of Toronto. The meeting was supported through OGI’s Genomics Capacity Building (GCB) Workshops Program.
