Sharing Big Data for Health Care Innovation: Advancing the Objectives of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health

Genome Canada, in partnership with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), have launched a request for applications focused in the area of data sharing.

This competition aims to support a single pan-Canadian program that will develop a strategy for the responsible, secure and effective sharing of genomic and clinical datasets across Canada and the world. The resulting framework will accelerate health research and improve patient care. The successful program will involve a broad range of stakeholders and support the activities of the Global Alliance for Genomics and Health.

Please contact OGI (Meredith McLaren at mmclaren@ontariogenomics.ca) if you are interested in applying to this program. Also please note that the deadlines for OGI may differ from those in the official RFA from Genome Canada.

  • There is up to $1 million available for this competition through Genome Canada with up to an additional $0.5 million available from CIHR (up to $1.5 million total).
  • 25% of the requested funding for eligible costs must be obtained through co-funding from other sources.
