Technology Development

In October 2006, Genome Canada launched a competition in development of new technologies for genomics and proteomics research. It hoped thereby to underwrite development of new and improved technology broadly applicable to genomics, proteomics, or related areas. The term ‘technology’ here denotes methods and tools that enable research, including instrumentation and/or devices, techniques, and software.

Genome Canada announced results for this competition on 5 May 2008, and invested $9.37 million in 13 projects.  Under this rubric, seven projects worth $11.2 million (including co-funding) were funded through OGI.
