Through this program, OGI will support researcher-initiated workshops that aim to stimulate collaborations leading to international funding or in-kind contributions in support of large-scale genomics research (and/or other high-throughput, holistic, and systematic strategies and associated technologies). Workshops must be held in Ontario and focus on a unique, well defined research area.
OGI will support up to four workshops per year with funding of up to $10,000 per Workshop. OGI intends to be the sole formal sponsor of any such Workshop.
Researchers currently leading a large-scale genomics project can apply. Additionally, OGI welcomes applications from small, tight knit groups of high profile scientists endeavoring to build their capacity to compete nationally and internationally for funding in genomics.
OGI will accept proposals on or before the designated due date for each quarter (i.e., January 21, April 15, July 15, and October 15). OGI will notify applicants of the funding decision within a month of the relevant deadline.
