Genome Canada funding through OGI
Requests for Genome Canada funding for Ontario-led large-scale genomics and proteomics research projects and science and technology platforms must be submitted through OGI. These applications must conform to the guidelines for the particular competition.
Genome Canada can pay up to 50% of eligible costs of most projects that it approves. The balance must come from other funding organizations. For example, if peer review determines that a research proposal will require $10 million over three years, Genome Canada may cover as much as $5 million, and the balance must derive from other sources (‘co-funding’) – for example, industry, international funding bodies, not-for-profit organizations, and provincial governments. Note that different funding criteria apply for Platforms and ICIs. Please contact OGI for more information.
