In May 2003, Genome Canada launched the Applied Genomics and Proteomics Research in Human Health (AHH) competition to fund the best proposals to develop and apply genomics and proteomics tools to better predict, prevent, and treat human disease. On 13 April 2004, it announced investment of $123 million in 14 projects. Three projects were funded through OGI, with a total value of $23.6 million (including $12 million in funding from Genome Canada).
