OGI is currently recruiting for a new President and CEO.

President and CEO

Since its creation a decade ago, the Ontario Genomics Institute (OGI) based in Toronto Ontario, has developed a broad and diverse portfolio of over 40 genomics projects with budgets totalling over $700 million. Today, OGI supports world-class research and commercialization efforts and continues to position Ontario as a global leader in genomic science and its many applications.

As President & CEO, supported by an engaged Board of Directors, you will promote a compelling vision for OGI and genomics in the Province of Ontario. From the bench to the boardroom, you will build relationships with private industry, academia, Genome Canada, fellow genome centres across the country, and the provincial government, primarily Ontario’s Ministry of Research and Innovation. You will promote outreach efforts, develop new business opportunities, and provide oversight to a diverse research program. A key spokesperson and fundraiser, you will identify and secure funding from a variety of new and existing sources and position OGI as the epicentre of successful genomics activity in Ontario, Canada and internationally. You will lead a skilled, enthusiastic and energized team that is driven to perform and succeed in an environment that models collaboration, promotes engagement, embraces challenge and champions innovation.

As the ideal candidate, you are passionate about genomics and respected within the scientific community as an advocate for research excellence. You are creative and entrepreneurial, displaying the courage, vision and enthusiasm that inspire people and organizations to excel. A charismatic, well-rounded and skilled networker, you are recognized for your ability to communicate and build relationships with a wide range of constituents. Your corporate success in commercialization and business development will serve you well as will your record in raising money from granting agencies, government, and private sources. Strategic and results driven, you have a balanced appreciation for the roles of science, technology, policy and finance in the competitive global market for scientific discovery and innovation.
