About the author
Dr. Eva Amsen received a PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Toronto, researching cellular aspects of pigmentation in the lab of Dr. Daniela Rotin at The Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. She currently works for the Human Biology department at the University of Toronto, and as a freelance science communicator.
Eva is Editor-in-Chief of the volunteer-run journal Hypothesis, and has written for several other publications, including CRAM Science, The Scientist, and Spacing. She blogs at easternblot.net and on Nature Network.
