One of the day's highlights was a panel discussion with renowned experts in biomarkers and imaging.

OGI, together with GE Healthcare, co-hosted a full-day conference to explore the use of powerful imaging modalities to uncover better information about biomarkers. The gathering brought together more than 100 scientists, clinicians, and representatives from industry across a variety of disciplines.

Biomarkers can be specific proteins, DNA, or other molecules that correlate to biological events, typically disease. By viewing and measuring these associated molecules, scientists can better understand disease progression, predict drug response, and even speed up drug discovery.  The emerging field of biomarker discovery and superior imaging techniques will enhance  the ability to diagnose disease earlier and more accurately and thus  help shift  treatment  towards early health.
